Welcome to the Village Dental PracticeInformation for new dental patients
On arrival at The Priory Medical Practice
You can use the large car parking facility, then please come to the Medical Centre Reception, they will point you upstairs to our reception on the first floor. To ensure access is available to everyone we also have a lift, please ask at reception for the lift access.
We carry out a thorough examination of your mouth and surrounding parts. The examination includes a cancer screening and gum health check. We record your existing fillings and their integrity and assess your occlusion and teeth. You will notice during your examination that your dental nurse will call out to the dentist a series of questions from a checklist. This ensures that we perform a thorough examination including various checks for different forms of tooth wear, cracks and leaking fillings. When appropriate we will advise you to have X-rays taken. These help us detect decay between the teeth, before it has a chance to make a large cavity. We have invested in the latest digital X-rays for your safety, as they deliver a much smaller dose of radiation.
Once we have completed your examination we will discuss the findings with you.
We will take care to explain to you what the findings mean and involve you in the decision making and treatment planning. Should you require any remedial work to restore your mouth to health we will present you with a printed estimate of any treatment planned. If we can recommend any treatment that may help you to avoid future problems or treatment, we will do so.
For more information on the range of treatments we have available please view our Treatments page.
